How to become a seller
- Step 1
Apply
Create your seller account with your seller and contact details — individuals and dropshippers are welcome. It takes about 5 minutes.
- Step 2
Get verified
Complete identity verification with Didit. Your store activates automatically after Didit approval, without a separate Planet24 review.
- Step 3
List products
Add your products with honest prices including national transport, photos and stock levels in the Seller Centre.
- Step 4
Sell and get paid
Arrange dispatch and delivery, including orders shipped directly by your supplier. Once delivery is confirmed, your payout follows the next business day.
What you need
- An individual, sole proprietor, dropshipper or registered business operating legally in South Africa
- South African ID or passport of the seller or business representative
- No registered company required; CIPC details only if applicable
- VAT number, if VAT registered
- A South African bank account in your own or your business's name
- Proof of your contact address (not older than 3 months)
- New, genuine products you are legally allowed to sell
Fees, simply explained
Example for one product sold at R 1 000:

- Use customer details only to fulfil orders, in line with POPIA.

- You are responsible for your own tax and VAT.

- Offer instant or same-day delivery where available; confirm timing for each address.

Questions sellers ask
Is there a cost to join?
No. Signing up and listing products is free. You pay 10% commission only on completed sales.
When do I get paid?
The business day after the customer confirms they received the order (D+1). A payout may be held while a return or dispute on that order is open. Online payments and payouts start once our payment provider goes live.
Who delivers my orders?
You arrange and pay for transport with nationwide South African coverage. Include the transport cost in the product price; Planet24 does not supply or pay for delivery. Use instant or same-day delivery where available, and confirm the timing for the actual product and address.
What can't I sell?
Counterfeit or used goods, weapons, drugs, prescription medicines, tobacco, adult content and anything illegal or recalled. See the Seller Terms for the full list.
Can I sell without a registered company?
Yes. Individuals can apply without a registered company. CIPC and VAT details are only needed where applicable; seller verification and legal obligations still apply.
Can I do dropshipping?
Yes. Your supplier may ship directly to your customer, but you remain responsible for stock accuracy, genuine products, national transport included in prices, delivery timing and returns.
Do I need to be VAT registered?
No. If you are VAT registered, your prices must include VAT and you should add your VAT number when applying.
